Sankaraiah Mada, Sc’G’

Shri Sankaraiah Mada has done his B.E (Mechanical) from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupathi, A.P and M. Tech (Production Engg.) from P.S.G College of Technology, Coimbatore. Started career in Research & Development Establishment (Engrs), Pune, Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) Lab as Scientist ‘B’ in the year 1993 after completing the National Level DRDO flag ship Training at Institute of Armament Technology (IAT) under Mechanical Engineering Fellowship Course (MEFC-3) and worked on Design & Development of High Speed – Hydro Pneumatic Launcher which is the launch pad for Remotely Piloted Vehicle – Nishant. Later in the year 1996, he joined Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) as Scientist ‘C’ and worked on Environmental Control System (ECS) and On Board Oxygen Generation System ( OBOGS) of LCA – Tejas.
Currently he is Scientist ‘G’ with functional designation as Group Director (General Systems – Integrated Life Support System) & Deputy Project Director (General Systems – Environmental Control System). He has successfully indigenised High Temperature & High Pressure Gimbal Expansion Bellows and Type certified for service use in Indian Light Combat Aircraft – Tejas. He had been instrumental in Ground Integration Test plan and execution of ECS test cases and successful in obtaining the flight test certification of ECS system for Tejas. He has executed exhaustive flight test instrumentation for ECS and successfully implemented and evaluated various ECS mods. in Tejas towards increase of Pilot Comfort.
He is a team leader from ADA towards Design & Development of OBOGS and spear-headed the OBOGS system configuration, Qualification testing, component flight certification and its successful integration in Tejas.
In addition to his Scientific & Engineering Tasks, he has been part of Core Committee to organise DRDO-ADA Exhibitions during various National & International Air Shows namely AI-2011, AI-2013, AI-2015, AI-2017, Singapore Air Show – 2012 and Bahrain International Air Show-2016.
Currently he is responsible for design and development of ECS & OBOGS for Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) and in charge for realisation of all Mechanical Systems for AMCA.
